Christmastime at Home

I have never missed a Christmas at home with my family. Arriving at either BWI or IAD, I step outside and when the chill of the air hits my skin, I instantly get in the spirit of the holidays. Growing up on the east coast, I always associated cold weather with the holiday season but now that I live in sunny California, I find it difficult to get in the spirit. Being with family grounds me. Despite normal family challenges and dynamics, I know they are my support system and hopefully they know I am theirs. Being together just brings warmth to my soul.

When and how do you feel grounded?

Do you do a "Friendsgiving" or a combined "Friends Thanksmas?" I love both of these popular gatherings because they transcend religion and connect on the beautiful desire to share and feel love. Whatever the case may be, I hope you find joy during the holidays and I hope this experience makes you grounded in who you are and where you are going.
