Pollinators are SO important to not only our planet but to everything living on it as well. 85% of flowering plant species, including crops, need a pollinator to reproduce. The category of pollinators include more than just bees; butterflies, bats, birds, beetles and other small mammals are also responsible from moving pollen from male flowers to female flowers.

We can take small steps to provide a bit of help to the pollinators still around us:

• Eliminate or greatly reduce use of pesticide⁠

• Provide clean water for pollinators with a shallow dish or bowl, bees get thirsty too!⁠

• Plant these plants:⁠

  • Sunflower⁠

  • Echinacea⁠

  • Bee balm⁠

  • Milkweed (butterflies lay eggs on the underside of the leaves!)⁠

  • Goldenrod⁠

  • Borage
